Logitech Supports Today’s Launch of Microsoft Lync 2013 with Best-In-Class Video and Audio Products

Unified communications takes a big step into the future today with the official launch of Microsoft Lync 2013, the latest edition of Microsoft’s software platform that provides a single integrated experience for presence, instant messaging, voice calls, video conferencing, desktop sharing and meetings. Tony Bates, president of the Skype division at Microsoft, said Lync 2013 represents the “rehumanization of communication.”

Logitech is proud to support Lync 2013 with a best-in-class portfolio of desktop video and audio products, empowering people to see and hear each other clearly for more effective collaboration. We’re displaying these products today through Thursday in our booth at Microsoft’s Lync Conference 2013 in San Diego.

The new Logitech® USB Headset H650e, for example, delivers enterprise-grade performance with wideband audio for true-to-life sound, noise cancellation, digital signal processing (DSP) and acoustic echo cancellation. There’s also a dynamic equalizer that automatically provides the best sound quality when switching between voice and music, for those who wear a headset all day to isolate themselves from background noise. The Logitech USB Headset H650e goes beyond audio quality by introducing innovative features such as a red “in call” light at the back of the microphone boom to prevent interruptions; we’ve all experienced the frustration of a colleague coming up behind us in an open space and starting to talk, only to realize we’re on a call.

The new Logitech® Webcam C930e provides full support for the H.264 SVC and UVC 1.5 video technologies, both new in Lync 2013. H.264 SVC frees up PC bandwidth by compressing video within the camera and automatically adjusts performance for maximum quality when bandwidth fluctuates – significantly improving the quality of video collaboration without requiring high-powered PCs or excessive investment in expanded network capacity. Another industry first is a 90-degree field of view for freedom of movement and versatility of use cases.

If you’re at Lync Con in San Diego, please stop by our booth. If you’re not, please visit us online at www.logitech.com/lync to learn more.
