The New Classroom

With so many technology offerings in the market that are designed for schoolwork, classrooms are becoming more connected than ever to boost learning in the digital age. From kindergarten to higher education, students are embracing technology to enhance the learning experience.

From June 29 to July 1, Logitech will join 12,000 attendees at the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) 2014 Conference and Expo in Atlanta, where educators from all over the world gather to learn about the latest software and services the tech industry has to offer in the educational realm. For this year’s conference, Logitech will showcase our latest products in the educational technology space, including the Logitech ConferenceCam CC3000e and the Logitech Wired Keyboard for iPad among other offerings at booth #2860.

We’re excited to share our latest educational solutions at a conference that brings educators of all types and grade levels together in a collaborative workspace. Read on for our ideas on how to tackle the daily challenges in the classroom.

From Textbooks to iPads

from textbooks to ipadsRecognizing the potential of tablets as a personalized learning tool, Apple continues to make strides in producing affordable iPads for educators and developing software and tools to enhance learning. As more schools are jumping on the digital bandwagon, teachers are embracing technology to give students autonomy over their education. It would seem that the numbers are supporting the shift as well. A recent year-long study with textbook publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Apple found when using the iPad algebra app instead of paper textbooks, 20 percent more students scored  ‘Proficient’ or ‘Advanced’ in subject comprehension.

Connected Classrooms

In order to aid educators embracing digital learning, we released the Logitech Wired Keyboard for iPad – the first wired keyboard for iPad specially designed for the classroom. Taking the student and teachers’ needs into consideration, this keyboard is easy to use and will last long after the school year is out. The plug and play design makes it easier than ever to set up without IT assistance, and we made it classroom-proof with a durable, spill-resistant design that comes with a 3-year limited hardware warranty. Eliminating the need for the onscreen keyboard also frees up more screen space to maximize your visuals. For those classrooms working with a smaller budget and just getting started with their tech rollout, this keyboard is a great solution for interactive teaching and group learning.

Learning Beyond the Local School

learning beyond local school

As most teachers know, no two students are alike. It can be difficult to cater your lesson plan to accommodate students of varying academic levels, especially at younger grade levels. To help educators give students the attention they need, Logitech looked beyond the classroom to develop the Logitech ConferenceCam CC3000e. Combining business level-quality audio and affordability, this group conference setup can be used for distance learning for small classrooms, webinars and conference meetings from elementary to high school.

Thanks to its affordability and ease of use, the CC3000e brings video-enabled conference rooms to the masses and turns any classroom into a collaborative learning environment. No IT or AV Club required, it simply uses a USB cable to connect to your PC or Mac, with a 32-foot range between a camera and speaker. Perfect for groups of 6-10 people, it uses an omni-directional microphone to capture the full sound of the room without ambient noises or echoes. It also works with all major video tools such as Google Hangouts, Skype, Lync, videyo and LifeSize and lets you record your video sessions – such as lessons and conferences – to review and share.
