New: Logitech G35 Surround Sound Headset

Filed: Gaming, Product

For gamers looking to be totally immersed in their game, the Logitech G35 headset offers 7.1 surround sound – a perfect complement to the growing number of action games and high-definition movies that support 7.1-channel surround sound. The headset is powered by second-generation Dolby® Headphone technology. Plus, with its ear-enclosing design, the G35 headset greatly reduces ambient noise from interfering with your entertainment, while an adjustable, noise-canceling microphone focuses on your voice and reduces background noise. In other words, your games will sound awesome and you’ll hear every explosion but you can still hear the phone ring in case you want to pause you game to take a call.

If you use popular chat clients such as Ventrilo or Team Speak, the G35 headset includes three keys on the left earpiece for one-touch command over voice morphing. Additional on-ear audio controls provide quick access to volume, microphone mute and surround sound adjustments. And to ensure your headset remains comfortable during long gaming sessions, the G35 headset features three swappable headbands so you can select the style that fits your head best. We want to make sure you are comfortable for those long gaming marathons. :)

Wait for a few weeks for May for the headsets to be available on that website, and PC Case Gear has some really nice and low prices compared to others.

Recommend them.

Ryan | April 29th, 2009 at 8:04 pm

Went to purchase these on your website and they are listed as ‘out of stock’. Any news on when you’ll have some more?

Hi Ryan,

Are you in the U.S.? They show up as available on Logitech.com when I look.

Cheers, Ruben

Hello Ruben.

Still a little unsure, are the G35’s hitting the shelves in australia yet? After checking Ebay and Amazon and finding only one hit for the search i was pretty sure there were going to be delays. I know you’ve answered this question before but i’ll pose it anyways.

When will Australia be recieving the G35’s? Been a while since i’ve had a high quality pair of headphones and im looking forward to it.

Thanks in Advance.

I thought that I would follow up on my City Of Heroes issue with the G35. After working with Logitech tech support, turns the issue is with the audio stream from City of Heroes, and not the G35. I have now tested it with several other games/applications, with GREAT success.

What is amazing, is that the people that I talked with are in the process of working with City of Heroes to see if they can fix the issue. Now that is OUTSTANDING support.

Thanks Ruben! And way to go Logitech!

Nick | May 1st, 2009 at 9:17 am

When do these come out for the California territories?

CJ | May 1st, 2009 at 12:53 pm

May 1st now….. Still not avaliable from any US retailers or Amazon…. I may have to get a Logitech account after all, only thing is I hate having my credit information on more sites than I have to :(

Bene | May 2nd, 2009 at 7:17 am

Thanks for that info Ruben.

Guess I kinda have to thank Logitech, too. Now I can focus on my graduation :)

Can’t wait to get a pair.

Keep on rocking, cya :)

Jasmine | May 2nd, 2009 at 11:56 am

Dear Logitech, my husband and I love you all. We can’t find any company that does computer gaming accessories anywhere near Logitech in innovation, quality, prices, and so on.

Are all international releases for G35 Headset (outside of the USA; Europe, Canada, etc) all planned release for end of May? Will they be sent to TigerDirect.CA, Amazon.CA, etc upon international release? What’s the deal? If you can we want a sooner release!! <3 GO CANADA!!

ed | May 3rd, 2009 at 12:33 pm

The G35 should be available in Europe at the very end of May.

I hope you ‘re right
because i wait 2 months for it

Jasmine | May 3rd, 2009 at 6:09 pm

I know that it is released in Europe at the end of May. Does this include all international releases, like Canada?

Ryan | May 4th, 2009 at 4:54 am

Ruben,

I checked again and tried to order. Under the ‘ In Stock’ column for the G35 it showed ‘Out of Stock’ in gray lettering just as before. I figured you knew what you were talking about and ordered. Now Logitech emailed me saying they are back ordered…after withdrawing the money from my account of course.

Ruben Mookerjee | May 6th, 2009 at 9:18 am

Hi Ryan,

We\’ve sold through our inventory but have replacements arriving the week of May 22. In terms of your concern about a charge being placed on your credit card, I just wanted to clarify that we pre-authorize, but the actual charge against your account is not completed until the item is available for shipment.

Cheers, Ruben

CJ | May 4th, 2009 at 7:36 pm

@ Ryan

Thanks for posting the info. Now I know not to order from them either.

I can’t believe they would charge your account for a back ordered product that states it is “in stock”

Can Logitech not be trusted????

Taylor | May 5th, 2009 at 11:49 am

I see that they are for sale in US… but on the site it says they are available in Office Depot, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Staples… I checked all these stores websites and the only one with any record of them is Best Buy and they are back ordered 2+ week wait time.. now lol I am a very impatient person and when I see something that i want I hate having to order them online. Is there any store to buy them at?

Thanks, Taylor

Taylor | May 5th, 2009 at 12:23 pm

Also… I just looked on Amazon and it says this Item has not yet been released. Um, I thought it did in the US? Grrrr ‘;…;’

Hi Taylor (and all those of you in the U.S. still waiting to purchase the G35),

The units that we shipped to Amazon went to fill all of their pre-orders and they are now sold out. The next shipment arrives at our distribution center the week of May 22 and we\’ll be shipping to Amazon as well as other retailers that week.

Cheers, Ruben

Ruben G | May 7th, 2009 at 6:24 am

Hi Ruben,

do you have information about the release in Europe or more specifically Germany? I would love to order one of these but the shops either can’t tell a release date or promised “end of month” in april and now the do the same in may. I don’t trust them…..

Cheers and thanks in advance,
Ruben

Chase | May 7th, 2009 at 5:47 pm

Its ok ruben, i couldn’t wait that long. So i bought a pair off ebay. From a guy who buys them from amazon and sells to Australians.

Pretty compfy earphones, I had a little go at trying to use the headphones for push to talk but it didn’t work, anyway it’s much easier to use the alt key for push to talk because your hands still on the keyboard. The g1,g2 and g3 buttons are best for play/pause, next track, etc, while in game so you don’t have to alt+tab out to listen to music.

They are the sexiest things i have ever seen, the quality is amazing. They smell awesome because of the leather too.

I have had them a couple of days and need to get used to the sound but from what i can tell, they have extremely good sound for fps gaming. I actually do hear people before i see them now and you can predict things better.Great bass and sound quality for music. Pretty funny voices too, giant sounds like darth vader, mouse sounds like 6 year old girl.

Has impressed me as much as my G9 did.
Very worth the wait if you have a pair of headphones you can use untill you get the G35’s.

A++

Ruben G | May 8th, 2009 at 12:28 am

Oh, I think saying “I don’t trust them….” was confusing. I meant the shops and not the product ;-) . Ordering from the US is no option. At the moment strange things are going on at the german customs and orders from the states take an average delivery time from two months to infinite.

Will have to wait till the G35 is released locally. But when will that be?

Ruben

Bene | May 8th, 2009 at 6:55 am

Hi Ruben G
Let me answer for Ruben^^

I ordered a pair from Amazon Germany and I got an email this morning telling me that they will ship them to me around 3-6 June.
That around the time Ruben told me…

I guess we have to wait a month^^

Now in german:
Also wie gesagt… Amazon hat mir heute morgen eine Email geschckt in der drin stand dass ich das G35 zwischen dem 3 und 6 Juni erhalte…
Also noch ein Monat (nicht mehr ganz) Ich freue mich auch schon drauf :P

Cya guys^^

Hey Ruben! :)

Hello, Im just wondering when this product will be in Canada. Ive seen some of your other replies for other countries, it being May 22nd. Just curious if this is the same date for Canada. My old headset just isnt cutting it, stereo speakers :/

Thanks,
Alex

dDub | May 13th, 2009 at 10:05 pm

Welp, my G35’s arrived today -guess Bestbuy got some early?. I’m impressed with the overall quality of design and early sound monitoring but realised a little too late about the USB only connection which almost renders the headphones useless to me.

Rather, the headphones are perfectly useful, but is eliminiates use of the TST Buttkicker under my chair. Since the USB only connection doesn’t allow for any splitting of audio, there is no way to feed any to the Buttkicker.

So unless there is some way to split off USB audio or simultaneously run two sources of audio (headphones and card or onboard) then i’ll unfortunately have to return these lovely cans.

Any ideas? i’ve been googling and experimenting all day but have come up short. Best luck i had was to start a game, tab-out and then select another audio source. It worked, but only with newly launched programs while the game stuck to the G35’s, which makes sense. Any thoughts would be appreciated, i’d love to keep my G35’s but…

dDub,

It\’s great to hear you\’re enjoying your new G35. I\’m not certain if there is a solution that allows you to use G35 with other audio devices simultaneously. This capability is not built into Windows. I\’m aware of a product called Virtual Audio Cables (VAC) (http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.html), but I have not tried it myself. VAC includes audio repeating capabilities that may allow you to route the same audio to multiple audio devices. Again, I don\’t have any experience with VAC, so I definitely recommend investigating before downloading and trying it. This discussion may help you figure out if VAC does what you want it to do.

Cheers, Ruben

Jonny 5 | May 15th, 2009 at 12:38 pm

I’m just curious if these will be released in Canada at the end of May also. Every peripheral i’ve ever used has been logitech, and I love the look of these. Also, reading up on all of it’s features, I’d love to get my hands on these..

dDub | May 16th, 2009 at 10:43 pm

Ruben, thanks for the VAC Suggestion. It’ seems to be a very useful too. However, the best i can get audio to both my Buttkicker and the G35’s is with a 100ms delay, which is almost unnoticeable, however there is a lot of popping and crackling. For some reason the Audio Repeater program included with VAC that does all the magic can only repeat the Mic input from the headset. If it could stream the other audio as well it would be ideal compared to the other config with VAC since i could just bypass the delay…

anyways, thanks again for the response. I really like the G35’s and haven’t given up just yet, but it’s not looking good :(

Hi Ruben,

Got mine today already (Netherlands).

Quite a pleasant surprise. I’m impressed with the sound and the quality of the mike, and the cool design ;-)
Keep testing for the next couple of days.

Hi Ruben,

Watched a movie on my notebook yesterday. Awesome with the surround sound!

After day 1 i got the first question for Logitech.

Is there (or will there be) an applet for the G15/G19 keyboard available regarding the G35.
It might be easy to see the current G35 settings on the panel.

dolby surround on/off
voice morphing on/off
mike on/off
volume

Regards,

René

Nclim | May 22nd, 2009 at 1:42 am

Hello Ruben,

The big question still remains i guess… when will the G35 be available in the EU?? i cant buy it anywhere in the Netherlands yet :( and UK amazone wont allow me to import it!

thanks

regards,

Calder

Xagodur | May 27th, 2009 at 10:37 am

Just got this today, and i have to say… that it is the BEST headset i have ever had!
The sound is just awesome, so is the voice morphing.

In games this is really helpfull, you can really hear things coming before you see them!

Martijn | June 7th, 2009 at 8:55 am

hi there,

i just got my g35 headset…and when i try to use the cable managment from my g15 keyboard….i see that the wire of the g35 is too thick to fit into the cable managment of the g15….

Scrooby | June 10th, 2009 at 10:14 am

Is there a set release date for these headphones in the UK or is it different for each retailer? On Play.com they said that they were released on the 8th of June and that they are now in stock, however, on Scan.co.uk they say they are released on June 26th?

Hi ElessarGR,

It\’s feedback like yours that helps us identify improvement for future software releases. If you wouldn\’t mind, please submit your feature request on the Logitech Forums. I recommend posting in one of the existing G35 feature request threads started by other G35 users:

Allan | July 23rd, 2009 at 11:17 pm

Hi,
I have read through all your comments and various problems, but what I’m experiencing is a bit different….I think!
I get a crackling, scratching sound from my G35 – only when sounds are played.
If I fx. play the Windows default sounds I can hear the sounds but they are not “clean” and crisp. If I play the “Microsoft Sam” default message I can certainly hear what he’s saying but again not clean.
I know it’s not a hardware issue as I tried the G35 on my laptop – even without installing any software/drivers. There all sound are crisp.
I spoke with Logitech local support and they couldn’t offer much help. They asked med to un-install all software & drivers and get the newest from the web – but to no avail.
I also tried to wiggle the cable/usb connection to see if it was a bad connection.

Any ideas ?

Many thanks for replying Ruben.
The day before I was going to return the headset and ask for my money back I tried to disconnect my table speakers and connected the G35 again…….It worked like a charm :-)
Afterwards I re-connected the speakers again and the G35 still worked.
I haven’t installed any drivers/software yet, but all functions are working. I’m so relieved.
Thanks for the link to the Support Forums and thank you for a fantastic product. Next purchase will be the G19.

Hi,

The voice morphing for my G35 doesnt work. I tried it with the G keys and with selecting the voice my self in the program, but it doesnt work. I still get my voice without the voice morphing.

I’ve never had any problems with the voice morphing, till now.

I have the Logitech G35’s, boutht them about 2 weeks ago. I was initally impressed with them and still sort of am. For some reason I get massive ammounts of crackling noises and sound when I use them now. I have tried contacting support and they say that support is not available, which is very bad on logitech’s part.

Does anyone here know why my headsets might be crackling etc? Maybe it is some kind of setting somewhere?

Hallo all
I got a problem with my Logitech G35 . I bought it yesterday and the normal sondthings work like hearing music and stuff like this ! When i want to play there is also sound but if i connect in a map (in Battlefield 1942) i have a sound bug !
I can’t hear anything because every sound comes often after and after !
So is there a problem with my headset or is it a problem of the game ??
I thank you
