Logitech Alert Software Now Available for Mac Users

Great news Mac users! Today, Logitech is expanding our Logitech Alert lineup by introducing Logitech Alert Commander for Mac® OS X, a new powerful software desktop application that easily turns your Mac into a video security command center. Mac users can now setup and install their Alert systems without needing a Windows based computer!

With our new Mac software, you can configure, control and view video from you Logitech Alert™ Security System directly from your Mac, a capability that is already available on Windows-based computers. Alert Commander for Mac OS X is available for free in the Mac App Store, supports Mac OS version 10.6.8 and higher, and works with all existing versions of our Logitech Alert security cameras.

Alert Commander for Mac OS supports up to six Logitech Alert security cameras and gives you the flexibility to keep an eye on your property and loved ones. With a wide-angle lens that delivers twice the viewing area than that of a standard camera and HD resolution video, home security has never looked this good. Plus, there is a new pop-out window feature that allows you to minimize the main app while continuing to watch one or more cameras while you multi-task. Work on a presentation or browse the web, and still keep an eye on what’s important.

Additionally, you can access previously recorded clips — play, pause, forward and rewind video – ensuring no action is missed. To make it easier to review your recordings, just mouse over the timeline and see a thumbnail of the action that triggered a recording. And just like the Windows version, you can back up your video recordings to your Mac’s HD to archive for a later review.

On vacation, a business trip or at the office? You can receive text alerts with photo snapshots to your e-mail or mobile device when suspicious motion is detected. You can also schedule desktop notifications to appear at a certain time each day. No matter where or how far away you are from your home or business, Logitech Alert offers you peace of mind.

Check out the video here to see the new Logitech Alert Commander for Mac OS X in action, and let us know what you think in the comments.

If you have a Mac with the App Store installed, get the application here. You can also learn more about Logitech Alert Security Systems on  http://www.logitech.com/en-us/video-security-systems.

  • Hooray!! I would give you my first born child but he is an adult now. I hope you realize the stress you caused by having the best video cameras and systems on the market then not having the ability to use it on a mac. Thank you, thank you, thank you I have it installed and running and could not be happier.

  • I used to run WiLife on my PC, but dropped it when I moved to Mac a couple of years ago. I’d love to get an Alert system now that I can run it on my iMac. Is there any sort of a trade-in program for the old equipment, or would I have to start from scratch?

  • Installed the new Mac version yesterday of the Commander software and have lost all my cameras – even the Windows 7 version refuses to see my cameras and I cannot get suport to contact me – HELP!
Unplugged all the cameras (re-set too) and power-line adaptors – re-installed the software – rebooted my DHCP server it cannot be this complicated?
I use this system for my business and perhaps it is a toy and I need to review the Logitech purchase?

  • Too bad the Logitech web site security pages are not current with your article…click on the link in your article and it’s all about the PC. A tech company that doesn’t have its website current with its latest offerings??
