In one week, I’ve gone from geek heaven at CES in Las Vegas, to rock and roll heaven at the 2011 NAMM convention in Anaheim, CA. NAMM is a great convention for any kind of musician; it’s where the music industry shows off their newest, greatest products!
Since NAMM is a trade-only show, a lot of people don’t get to check out the sights and sounds of the convention. That’s why I took my camera and put together a fast montage of sights and sounds I came across while walking around the Anaheim Convention center. Don’t worry if you’re on the go, this video is fast and furious! Think of it as NAMM in 60 seconds: guitar shredding, folk warblers, weird self-playing instrument walls… there was a lot of neat stuff to see this year!
The Ultimate Ears booth was buzzing with people checking out both the retail and custom lines of UE’s products. It was a blast seeing all the fans and rockstars stop by the booth; on Thursday, no less than Lifehouse, Tommy Lee and Deadmau5 all came by the booth to say hello. Tommy even told us how much he liked his custom in-ear monitors! It was awesome!
I did a little emceeing and gave away some earphones to willing contestants… and some of the things I got them to do were pretty funny! They were willing to go the extra mile to win a pair of Ultimate Ears earphones, much to the delight of myself and (hopefully) all you Internet viewers — so, what would YOU do for a pair of Ultimate Ears? Check out the video and tell me how you’d outdo these lucky winners!
