Damon Dash meets the Logitech Revue with Google TV

Living in TriBeCa had its perks! It is a beautiful neighborhood in lower Manhattan full of great restaurants and storefronts. It’s full of trendy sought after real estate and is home to many notable residents from actors to models and recording artists. One of those just so happens to be the subject of this blog: Damon Dash.

Damon Dash, the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke is one innovative, impressive force. He now heads DD172 and the Dash Gallery, home to Creative Control TV.

Dash and I met at the Logitech Loft NYC recently to demo the Logitech Revue with Google TV technology. With his interests in providing cutting edge online content, getting acquainted with our limitless web integrated television was the first priority. The reach of a seamless system that brings the online experience to your television is what captured Damon’s interest right off the bat. He explained to me how revolutionary and vital this was for organizations like his own to really enable their audience a greater viewing experience, and how right he is!

All of the above was very evident when I had the chance to tour and experience the Dash Gallery also located in TriBeCa. The multi-level property not only houses the visionary and enterprising crew that makes DD172 what it is, it also is home to the current studio of the legendary producer, Ski Beatz…and now, one shiny new piece of technology heaven as well: the Logitech Revue.

What Damon and his talented team are engaged in is inspirational and forthcoming. They have created a platform to showcase graphic design, television programming and endless creative media supporting music, fashion and art. What the Logitech Revue with Google TV breakthrough leverages to artists is invaluable and long overdue; access to boundaryless content from the comfort of your living room.

Check out this teaser created by DD172 sharing some of our moments together experiencing the Revue… with special thanks to the lovely Knoelle Higginson, Directors Coodie & Chike, the entire team at DD172, and of course, the man himself, media mogul Damon Dash. It was a sincere pleasure, hope to see you all again soon!

  • When you say “access to content without boundaries,” what does this mean exactly? Does it mean all the channels and content is freely accessible or does it mean that these channels/pieces of content is packaged and/or sold individually? e.g. HBO, Encore, etc.
