Spoon was named band of the decade last year by Metacritic and to call them Indie heavyweights just doesn’t do them the proper justice since no one watches this type of boxing. Rather, they are the Manny Pacquiao of college radio playlists and their new album is riding the charts. We think this is their best one yet – the sound is brilliant and the minimalist recordings are refreshing, just like that first day of sun and 65 degree temperatures. The New York Times gave the album stunning praise and they are also brand new fans of Ultimate Ears. Having Spoon be part of the program is yet another huge accomplishment.
