As a follow-up to our G11 gaming keyboard, we bring you the Logitech Gaming Keyboard G110. “Dare I call it sexy? It’s sleek, clean, and thin. Logitech has finally made a gaming keyboard that can easily blend into a work environment,” says CrunchGear. The G110 is full of cool personalized features, such as customizable backlighting, which Gearlog enjoys: “I love the customizable backlighting on the G110: you can make it red, blue, or any shade of purple…that’s something I’d love in my regular keyboard.”

Also announced, for all of you stuck on your laptops with sore backs and necks, the Notebook Kit MK605 is here to relieve your discomfort. CrunchGear says, “Logitech has the right idea here.”

Personalization

Customizable backlighting: We put in red and blue backlighting LEDs and give you control in the Profiler software over how they are mixed together, so your G110’s backlighting can be red, blue, or pretty much any shade of purple you can imagine.

12 programmable G-keys and three M-keys: Give you the power to assign up to 36 single keystrokes, multi-key macros, or intricate LUA scripts. And, using the MR key, you can configure macros on the fly. The Profiler software also allows you to configure each M-key mode to have a different color backlighting, so you can know at a glance what mode you’re in.

Automatic game detection: Lets you create separate custom G-key programming profiles for every game you play.

Game mode switch: Easily disable the Windows and Context Menu keys, so that accidentally pressing them doesn’t kick you out of your game.

Connectivity

Integrated headset support: Works with any standard headphones or headset with 3.5mm plugs, like the Gaming Headset G330, and turns them into a high-quality USB audio device.

Hi-Speed USB 2.0 hub port: Plug your flash drive or favorite gaming mouse into this convenient low-power port.

The Gaming Keyboard G110 will retail for $79.99.  It will be available in North America starting in late November, and in Europe in January.

We introduced the new Harmony 900, Wireless Desktop MK 700, Rechargeable Speaker S315i and Portable Speaker S125i.

CNET reviewed the new Harmony 900 and said it’s “hands down, the best universal remote control we’ve ever tested” and Gizmodo says the remote’s “form factor, plus the included charging dock and the RF to IR blasters make this the best remote package Logitech has right now.”

The Wireless Desktop MK 700 is a mouse-and-keyboard combination and has a three-year keyboard and one-year battery life – CrunchGear says this is “impressive, folks.” In Gadgetizer’s coverage on the S315i and S125i iPod/iPhone docks they say, “Logitech always manages to stay on top with the best reliable sound.”

The MK 700 keyboard features Logitech Incurve keys that cradle your fingers for greater comfort, as well as an integrated LCD dashboard to keep you in touch with the status of important keyboard functions, including:

2. Caps lock
3. FN
4. Scroll lock
5. Num lock
6. Mute

The MX 700’s mouse is gently contoured for a natural fit and has a scroll wheel that gives you a choice between hyper-fast and traditional “ratchet-mode” scrolling.

Both the mouse and keyboard feature Logitech’s powerful 2.4 GHz wireless technology, which virtually eliminates delays and dropouts. And an impressive battery life – up to three years for the keyboard and one year for the mouse – will help you stay focused on the tasks at hand instead of searching for batteries.

On the gaming side, we introduced the Gaming Mouse G500 and the Gaming Headset G330. CrunchGear says the G500 mouse is “like a mash-up between the couple year-old G5 gaming mouse and the MX Revolution line which should be a match made in heaven” and Maximum PC says the “G500 is the long-awaited update to the G5 gaming mouse.”

We also announced our new Unifying receiver – a convenient way to connect multiple keyboards and mice to your computer. PC Magazine calls the Unifying receiver a “handy way for you to cut the cords and use full size keyboards and mice” and Engadget simply said “finally!” to their excitement on this useful capability.

Today we’re introducing a convenient way to connect multiple keyboards and mice to your computer. The tiny Logitech Unifying receiver can be paired with up to six compatible Logitech mice and keyboards, including the new Logitech Wireless Keyboard K350, Logitech Wireless Keyboard K340, Logitech Marathon Mouse M705 (EMEA) and the Logitech Wireless Mouse M505. Wim Vanheertum, product marketing manager for Unifying, describes the benefits of this new technology in the following video.

Until then, you have a couple of options:

1. You can use the built-in mouse and keyboard drivers in Windows 7
2. You can use the most recent version of SetPoint (equivalent to beta-level support).

If you go with option one, you’ll get support for the three main mouse buttons, plus back and forward buttons if your mouse has them. For keyboards, you’ll have support for the F1 – F12 keys plus the Volume and Playback controls.

If you want to change the button or key assignments on your mouse or keyboard, or want full support for a mouse or keyboard with extra buttons (i.e. more than five buttons on a mouse or the extra function keys on a keyboard), you’ll need to use our SetPoint software.

We have two versions of SetPoint that work with Windows 7, depending on which mouse or keyboard you have. For all mice and keyboards except the Logitech G9 and G9x Gaming Mice, use SetPoint 4.72. For the Logitech G9 and G9x Gaming Mice, use SetPoint 5.1. Both versions are on our website and can be downloaded here.

When downloading SetPoint, you’ll have to select “Windows Vista” as your operating system if you plan to install SetPoint on a Windows 7 system. This is because Windows 7 uses the same driver architecture for mice and keyboards as Windows Vista. Thus, the current versions of SetPoint for Windows Vista are essentially beta versions of our upcoming drivers for Windows 7.

It’s impossible to test every computer and configuration out there, so it’s important for us to hear what isn’t working. We’d also like to hear what you think of Windows 7, especially the features you find most useful. We’re always on the search for new tricks!
