ConferenceCam CONNECT wins gold at the AV Magazine Awards

When the ConferenceCam CONNECT launched back in February 2015 we knew that the road ahead would be exciting. We had spotted the huge demand for huddle rooms; smaller, dedicated collaboration spaces where employees could meet to collaborate on-the-fly. However, 97% of these meeting rooms weren’t video-enabled.

With the launch of CONNECT, we set out to drive deployment of the portable device into huddle rooms all over the world -18 months on and we’re proud to announce that the sleek, portable, all-in-one device has been recognised for its prowess and picked up the collaborative product of the year at AV Magazine’s AV awards.

The annual awards ceremony was held at Grosvenor House, London to celebrate innovation and best-practice in the AV industry.

Competition was tough, with Polycom’s Real Presence Centro and Mersive’s Solstice Pod making it through to the final round. However, Logitech’s CONNECT won over the judging panel for truly disrupting the traditional video conferencing model. The product has successfully democratized video conferencing for any size of business by bringing to market an affordable, enterprise HD-quality video conferencing device which is portable and as simple to use as a smartphone.

Dejan Thomas, lead solutions architect (unified communications) at Deutsche Bank AG sat on the judging panel and said:

“Portability and performance in innovative form delivered to a demanding UC customer… well done, team Logitech.”

The reviews editor at ZDNet, Charles McLellan, said the conference camera is ‘excellent’ and he gave the device a stellar 8.5/10 in his in-depth review. The ConferenceCam CONNECT has been appreciated for being truly portable – referred to as a solution that’s lighter than a MacBook Air. On a full charge, users can run a videoconference for up to three hours or use the speakerphone for up to 15 hours, and you are also able to display content from a mobile device onto a HDMI-enabled screen.

Our customers wanted a device that would enable them to be nimble, empowering them to quickly connect with customers and remote employees at any time around the world – and have broad-based UC compatibility. By producing a conference camera that costs about as much as an office chair, businesses of all sizes are now able to afford to connect to small collaboration meetings anytime and anywhere.
