Microsoft launched significant enhancements to Office 365 last week. These enhancements, which customers can purchase as the E5 SKU, have the potential to reshape the enterprise communications industry. How, you ask?

Office 365 is now a more complete cloud-based communications and productivity service. Customers do not have to go through the complex, expensive, and long deployment projects and deal with procurement cycles with multiple providers. They do not have to spend IT resources to maintain the communications infrastructure. Organizations of all sizes can now replace their legacy meeting and phone systems with innovative services built on the familiar Skype for Business experience, all naturally integrated within Office 365. Refer to the Microsoft blog post for more information on Office 365 enhancements.

One of the interesting new features is Skype Meeting Broadcast, which offers the ability to broadcast a Skype for Business meeting to up to 10,000 participants for live events, town halls, and webinars. For such a large scale broadcast event, you’ll want the audio and video to be crystal clear. (Cue the music) In walks our ConferenceCam Connect. It is a uniquely portable solution with HD 1080p video and professional audio for Skype Meeting Broadcasts anywhere, any time.

All of our devices that are certified for Skype for Business, such as the ConferenceCam family, support the new PSTN Conferencing, Cloud PBX, PBX Calling, and Skype Meeting Broadcast capabilities in Office 365. If you are currently using Lync or Skype for Business on-premises now and want to move to the cloud to enjoy the benefits of these enhancements in E5, your investments in Logitech products will be protected.
