UE BOOM Wins Gold International Design Excellence Award

Things are coming up gold for UE BOOM! The Bluetooth speaker has received another accolade to add to its award-winning status. The popular speaker received the Gold International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) from the Industrial Designers Society of America (ISDA), winning in the entertainment category.

The ISDA called the speaker’s “plus/minus interface refreshingly simple and makes it easy to enjoy a social music experience.”

IDEA recognizes design excellence in products, interaction design, service design, strategy, research, concepts and student designs. A panel of 24 international design experts judged this year’s entries, evaluating the entries on innovation; benefits to the user and client, sustainability, and the design’s visual appeal. With nearly 2,000 entries this year, only 27 received the Gold IDEA.

This is the first IDEA win for Logitech’s Ultimate Ears brand and fourth design win for the UE BOOM since its introduction in May 2013. The other design awards won by UE BOOM include a 2014 iF Product Design Award, a 2014 Red Dot Product Design Award and a 2013 GOOD DESIGN Award.

IDSA will formally award these honors at the 2014 International Conference in Austin, TX at the Austin Hilton on the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014. Read more about the event, and the winners at idsa.org.
