Logitech Tells Its Story

Tomorrow is national Tell a Story Day, a U.S. holiday that celebrates storytelling of all types, whether tall tales, folklore, memories or fiction. Many libraries even celebrate this day by hosting storytelling hours for children.

Many of you have expressed interest in hearing the story of how Logitech came to be, and we figured what better day to share the story than today?

Logitech got its start in Switzerland in 1981, focusing its efforts on the (new at the time) computer mouse. We took to designing mice as a way to provide consumers with a more intuitive way of interacting with a personal computer.

After establishing ourselves as the worldwide leader in computer mice, we have since reinvented the mouse in dozens of ways to match the evolving needs of PC and laptop users. We have also expanded our expertise in product design beyond the computer mouse, with a broad portfolio of interface devices that are the “last inch” between you and your computer or your console game, digital music or home-entertainment system.

With products sold in almost every country in the world, Logitech’s leadership in innovation now encompasses a wide variety of personal peripherals, with special emphasis on products for PC navigation, gaming, Internet communications, digital music and home-entertainment control.

We hope this brief story of our history has inspired you to tell a story of your own – perhaps of your own history. And don’t worry, Tell a Story Day is also observed on Oct. 27 in Scotland and England, so you’ll have another day to celebrate by telling your favorite stories later this year.

Tell us your favorite short story in the comments section below.
