Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam Receiving High Praise

We’re very excited by rave reviews for the Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam, the first product Logitech has designed specifically for the business market. Launched last month, the ConferenceCam brings together an HD webcam and full duplex speakerphone in a convenient package priced at just $249. It’s the perfect solution for small groups who want to gather for video or audio meetings, filling the gap between traditional webcams intended for individual users and meeting-room systems built for large groups. Among those reviews:

·         PCMag reviewer Jamie Lendino gave four stars to the ConferenceCam, saying, “The BCC950 excels as a webcam for both small business and corporate and enterprise use—which is exactly what it’s designed for.”

·         InformationWeek/Byte reviewer George Ou said the ConferenceCam “could rival some business class ‘telepresence’ solutions.”

·         Telepresence Options gave the ConferenceCam a “best in show” award at last month’s Infocomm event in Las Vegas. Publisher Howard S. Lichtman said the product is “somewhat revolutionary . . . (at) $249.00, which makes it the only sub-$1000 PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera that I know of on the market.”

Our customers, meanwhile, are snapping up ConferenceCams as fast as we can make them. They’re also telling us about many creative ideas and use cases for the product – including doctors seeing patients remotely, universities sharing lectures, executive recruiters conducting job interviews, banks setting up video customer service kiosks and big corporations supporting telecommuters. Check out the video below and feel free to post a comment on the ConferenceCam or on the future of video collaboration.
