Presents, Carols and … Thieves? Oh My!

The December holidays are quickly approaching and – while you probably associate the “most wonderful time of the year” with presents, mistletoe and eggnog – you may not realize the holidays often bring an increased number of home burglaries. With nearly 60 percent of Americans expecting to travel this holiday season, thieves see this as a key time to take advantage of empty homes and strike gold.
Give yourself peace of mind by using Logitech’s HD digital video security system, Logitech Alert™ 750i Master System and weatherproof Logitech Alert™ 750e Outdoor Master System with night vision. Logitech Alert’s smart cameras instantly detect motion and record video, capturing footage at key points of entry including doors and windows. With Logitech Alert you can view your videos remotely from any Internet-connected computer, smartphone or tablet, so you can keep tabs on your home anytime, anywhere.

In addition, simple precautionary steps such as keeping a few lights on in the house and asking a neighbor to pick up your mail and newspapers will give the illusion of being home when away.

Also, if you happen to be one of the expected 36 percent of folks opting to avoid mall crowds and do your holiday shopping online, you can use Logitech Alert as a way to ensure packages arrive safe (and catch any package-stealing Grinches on your front doorstep).

Do you have any other tips and tricks to keep your home safe? We’d love to hear any thoughts in the comments section below.

Happy holidays from Logitech!
