Logitech Revue Premiere Presented by Harlem Brewing and Daylight Media

The perfect premiere: Selected guests were cordially invited to an exclusive evening of custom Sugar Hill beer cocktails, divine hors d’oeuvres, special access to the latest technology in TV, and excellent company, of course…and we really did have a blast.

Check out the view upon exiting the loft elevator leading guests right into the party. Notice our red carpet theme?

There were great giveaways, a chance to taste our cocktail, the “Revue Debut” mixed to perfection, and hands on demonstrations and access to the future of Smart TV….and don’t think for a second that I didn’t take a mini break or two to devour some of the amazing passed food our caterers tempted the crowd with either, because I did. Sugar Hill concocted a really great beverage worthy of becoming a favorite libation. As for food, Benchmarc catering provided the most luring delicious treats. On most occasions, when I can’t really sneak away from demos and discussions, they make my night by stocking the loft fridge with plenty of delectable leftovers. Sliders and Nutella cream puffs anyone? Yum.

As for the guests, the crowd was a lot of fun. We had a great mix of people join us with genuine interest in hands on demonstrations of the Logitech Revue. My favorite part is witnessing every guest eagerly take control of the TV after their initial introduction. The beauty of this moment is watching the ease of use. Everyone hits the ground running; it is that user friendly. Within minutes, guests find their own niche and start confidently exploring the endless options. Among the great people I had the pleasure of meeting was Datwon Thomas, editorial director of Vibe Magazine. Cool, to say the least.

Here is a photo of the raffle winner for the evening. The best part about this was her vocal reaction to hearing her name being called. She has lungs! The enthusiasm was delightful to witness. She put a smile on everyones faces indeed.

I also had my first chance during this very event to open up a new shipment of the Logitech mini controller. This controller also allows a user to navigate through the Revue experience. I opened up the box, inserted the included battery and unlike most complicated brand new devices, it felt as if it started itself and lit up like an excited new gadget should. It was love at first sight. Syncing it with the Revue box was also so easy it was ridiculous. Since when did technology get this friendly? Thank you Logitech! There is a sync button on the back of the Revue box itself to help it detect new peripherals, one push and you are on your way. Needless to say, I am a fan…and I am certain you will be too. So now, we not only have the lightest most impressive keyboard option, but the mini controller as well. Add in the fact that Android based phones and the Iphone equipped with the right app can also become remote controls, and you just cannot complain. The options simply spoil you.

Speaking of keyboards, our security guard from Securitas did have one interesting situation at the end of our evening. Turns out one guest nearly took one home. Thanks to Eric, all of our inventory is now safe and sound. So, what do you think? Can you really blame the guest who made the mistake? After a night full of impressive demos that convince you your life shall never be the same, yummy cocktails and excitement, parting with the technology cannot be easy. Lucky for me, I live with it all. Yes, I am still pinching myself in disbelief. Interested in attending an event in the future? Let me know, we would love to have you over!

In the mean time, the Revue is now for sale. That is right, you can now join myself, Nixie and Rob in having the privilege of enjoying your very own Logitech Revue with Google TV in the comfort of your living room. See for yourself!

Our partner Best Buy is currently selling units as is Amazon. Last but not least, straight from the source itself… Logitech on the official Logitech website. So, what are you waiting for?
