Attacked During Logitech Revue Pre-Launch Update!

… Ow. My excitement on the night before the launch of Logitech Revue with Google TV was halted by a smack over the head.

In the near feature you can expect from me: live streaming demos, a Q & A session, along with video touring the loft and of course, the press event that went down today!

If you could ask one question about the Logitech Revue with Google TV, what would it be?

  • This video looks fantastic. Was it created with the new Logitech TV Cam connected to the Revue?

Also, when do you expect Hulu+ access on the Revue?

  • I use Hulu desktop that I view on my television. My question is will I be able to use the Hulu desktop with the Revue system?

  • Hi,

First I just have to tell you how pretty you are. I hope you don’t mind..

In regards to the Revue, I have more than one question…actually I have many!

is it going to have access to Hulu?

Is it going to be compatible with Windows Media Center, XBox or Ps?

Will it have the ability to play various media files through a computer or storage device such as Itunes files, Media Center Files etc??

Finally, considering an Apple TV is $99, and most of the web tv features I can do now what is the main reason to justify spending so much for this? The one reason I am considering spending so much is the sort of “open source” approach. Allowing developers to come up with apps and add ons really makes uses infinite and that is a major plus in my book.

features like Google Search, Image Frames, You Tube etc really do nothing for me. I am looking for a one stop device that will allow me to view Hulu, netfilx and every other media outlit all in one place. I would also like to be able to store my media in this device with external storage and the ability to play a wide variety of formats is a must. Finally the ability to stream from various local sources is on my list.

Can Google TV accomplish these things?

Thank you so much. I really cannot wait for this to come out but I am a little hesitant to pre- order right now. I want to wait until I read the reviews etc but I will be purchasing sooner or later. I just cannot imagine Google or Logitech ever releasing a poor product.

    Thanks again,

    Rich

  • would you say this logitech revue google tv would be the same as plugging your media center pc to your hdtv ?

  • my tv has internet apps and i have a ps3. how is the logitech revue google tv better than these 2 devices ?

  • If I had a way of backing up my Blu Ray DVDs to my Media Center server and had 802.11n WiFi would the Revue find and play these m2tv files? What does the Revue do that Boxy Box doesn’t?

  • My husband will be in San Fran on October 22nd. He works at Intel and worked on this chip. Are you having any parties that weekend- he wants to join. If there is an event, I may accompany him to Cali. I applied to be the NYC host, but was not chosen.

  • I’m relieved that you weren’t really attacked.

    My Question:

Using the Google TV/Logitech Revue with the Logitech TV Cam, which is designed for HD Video calls: How much upstream bandwidth does one need for HD calls, compared to the current DSL bandwidth ?

  • As has been posted above, I have copies of all of my CD’s / DVD’s etc on my File server at home, the only thing stopping me ordering one of these units is that I can’t see anywhere in any notes / specs that it can stream media from your local network??

I have films etc stored in avi and mkv.

    Thanks,

    Andy

  • I think this will be a great device. However 300 to get this device is rediculous. That is way to much. I think the CEO is going off from what he said. If its a good enough product people won’t care what the price is. That is so wrong. People don’t buy over priced things.

Also Logitech why don’t you give people the option to get the BIG keyboard or the small one. I think it should ship with the small one. If you think of your living room you don’t want to have a keyboard as a remote. The small handheld one would be ideal.

Then if you want that you have to spend 130 bucks for it. That is just setting yourself up for failure.

  • So were you gonna answer any of these questions, or are we just asking for splits & giggles. The only thing epic I see here is the epic fail that is Google TV. It could have been so much more. And it should have been. For that price, at the very LEAST it should be able to play back every type of media file stored on an external HD!! So disappointing.
