Will Harmony Work With Your Home-Entertainment Setup?

Filed: Digital Home

We get lots of emails from customers interested in buying a Logitech Harmony remote but wanting to know whether our remotes work with their devices before making their final purchase. Although we love hearing from our customers, there is an easy way for you to find the answer yourself on Logitech.com – check it out here.

Once you get to the “See if Harmony supports your home-entertainment setup” page, you can enter the model name and number of the devices you own to immediately find out whether they are already in our database. Chances are likely that they are, considering the database contains more than 225,000 devices from more than 5,000 brands.

Although we update our device list regularly, there are always new devices entering the market. And if you’re cutting edge when it comes to your hone-entertainment setup, (or maybe you own a rare device) and you can’t find what you’re looking for in our database. Have no fear – a Harmony remote can easily be taught to control any device. In fact, by adding new devices, you are contributing to our growing database and the device will be there for others who are looking for it in the future.

Once you are assured that we can support your home-entertainment setup, visit Logitech.com to compare the different Harmony remote models and select the remote that is right for you.

Hi the link doesn’t work. The page loads up wth the description of what Harmony does and you can see the headings for the boxes to put in your product, but you can’ do anything else and hte only active button is the ‘Next’ button which refreshes the page

Hi Paul,

This link will only allow you to find out if your devices are compatiblewith Harmony. If you would like more information about Harmony remotes, please go to: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remotes/universal_remotes/.

The “here” link takes you to a dead page. Nothing can be done on the page to check compatible devices.

Hi Ed,

I just checked and the link is working for me, but you can also get there by going to http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remotes/universal_remotes/. Once you’re on the page, click on “Test drive a Harmony” at the bottom left corner.

Best,
Ha

Hello Paul,

What would it take to make a Multi-Media entertainment system remote with a headphone jack in it? This would be useful in envroments where volume is an issue ( Hotel, Residental bedrooms).
I have been very impressed and happy with all of my Logitech devices (wireless mouse, speakers, and headphone/mic.

Thank You

Just to chime in: the link also does not work for me, using either Safari on OSX, Chrome on OSX, Chrome on Windows 7, or IE8 on Windows 7. I have IE7 and Firefox kicking around on other machines, but between the four browsers I tried and the other commenters I suspect you have a link you need fixing in your post. :)

Cheers!

Hi.

I don’t know where else to ask so I’ll do it here. I have Harmony 525 and want to control my pc with no-name ebay remote (that remote has IR receiver) …link to this remote – http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370273532246&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT … Remote is working great for me and I would like to use only few those buttons on my harmony. Can you help me which device should I add for this remote that hasn’t any serial number or manufacturer on it???

Thank you very much!

Hi Simon,

I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the remote you purchased on eBay for issues related to that remote.

Best,
Ian

I’ve never seen such a convoluted website in my life. Telephone support is available, but no telephone number is posted. It took 30 minutes just to find out how to create an account & I still haven’t figured out how to set up my remote.

I contacted my buyer and he couldn’t say what manufacturer name would be correct. Do you have any alternative idea of manufacturer or procedure I could do!?

The link is dead. I tried several browsers, but no go. Is there an alternative?

Thanks!

Hi Prognathous,
It seems that the link is not working for some browsers – we’re looking into this. This might work better.:

Here is a link that I believe this link works correctly for checking your devices:

Hope this helps.

i think this Internet-based setup is a breeze. An intuitive setup wizard will walk you through the steps to get the Harmony remote to work with your systems. Now one have a really good setup but id recommend that you find better placement for your rear speakers as it will hurt the ” surround experience” of your theater.
