Beginning today, music fans in the United Kingdom, France and Germany can use their Logitech Squeezebox Boom, Squeezebox Duet, Squeezebox Classic and Transporter network music players to access Deezer.com’s free music radio. We’re excited to be the first hardware partner of Deezer, a leading Web site for free music on demand in Europe.
Deezer offers 30 WebRadio channels (with each one featuring a different music genre), as well as the company’s SmartRadio offering, which tailors radio programs for individuals based on their favorite artists and their feedback on songs suggested by the service.
Whatever your favorite genre or artist, Deezer’s service should have something for you and with Logitech’s Squeezebox products, you can enjoy your customized music from anywhere within the home.

Great a blog like this! I’m always searching your site for new gadgets. Maybe it’s a good idea to introduce all your new products over here in category “new products”. Gotta have the new illuminated keyboard

What about the dutch guys(not german but netherlands). How can we use deezer?

Hello Robin,
Do you have an idea when Deezer will become available for the Dutch market?
By the way: I am very positive about the ease of installation and the intuitiveness of the Squeezebox Duet.
Kind regards,
Gerald

Hi Gerald,
Deezer is a fantastic partner with a great service, so I understand why you would want them in the Netherlands. We know that they are actively working to expand to more countries, and when they do, we will work as quickly as we can to get the service running on the Squeezebox. I recommend you send an e-mail to Deezer directly to ask. They are a friendly group and can likely give you a more specific answer.
By the way, the Netherlands is a very important country to Squeezebox and has one of the highest per capita adoption rates of our players. Thank you! We will do all we can to keep good services coming your way through the Squeezebox.

Hello,
Great that you extend the Squeezebox services. I have a Squeezebox Duet and I am very happy with it. However, I have a suggestion for another service. It would be great if I could control music streamed using the music service Spotify.
Best regards,
Chris

Hello,
Is the squeezbox able to read the personal playlists the user creates on Deezer?
Thanks for your answer.

Hi John,
At this time, we don’t support playlists on Deezer. However, we do support streaming of users’ custom channels.

When will you integrate Squeezebox with Spotify?
If you have choosed Deezer over Spotify, a huge number of current Squeezbox users and potential customers will be really disappointed…

Hi Alexander,
We’re constantly reviewing music services to include with Squeezebox products. There are a number of factors involved but the main consideration for many of the newer services (like Spotify) is the availability of an API. Not all services are accessible from devices and we need access to an API to create a great music experience. I can’t speak to our specific plans but we’re well aware of the popularity of Spotify and we look forward to having APIs available that we can use.

Hello,
so great this deal with Deezer which offer us a new space of music to our Squeezebox. Just a regret (or impatience ?) : as far as we get connected to Deezer through our account, couldn’t it possible to use our Deezer playlists on the Squeezebox ?
Regards JiM

In this context I want to add my support for Spotify to that of Alexander’s.
Perhaps there are some others out there too….?
